Note: The North Texas Soccer Referee Program hosts WhistleMania® once per year that will have a different pricing structure because a uniform kit is provided with the completion of the online and in-person sessions.

CREATE A PROFILE

Registration is performed online through U.S. Soccer’s Learning Center. There are fees to complete the required course work so be sure to have ready your credit or debit card available when registering. All candidates must be 13 years or older to create a profile in the U.S. Soccer Learning Center.

NOTE: Email addresses used must be validated within 24 hours or the account will be locked. Please avoid using a school email address. If you are under the age of 18 years old, you must add a parent/guardian email, which must be validated within 24 hours as well.

First-time Referees Online Course

This incredible, self-paced, 4.5-hour e-learning experience utilizes a variety of videos and learning modules for an exciting educational experience and prepares candidates for their assigned tasks and responsibilities as a Referee.

The online coursework also includes:

1. Safe Sport Training (if 18 years old or older – required by Federal Law)
2. Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments
3. Referee Certification Quiz

First-time Referee Course In-Person Session

The In-Person portion of a student’s coursework includes practical exercises for aspiring candidates wishing to become U.S. Soccer Referees. The goal is to prepare the candidates by offering a safe, fun, reality-based, holistic experience.

The purpose of the in-person session is to provide an opportunity to reinforce concepts and knowledge covered in the online portion of the course via practical exercises. The focus must be on preparing the referee candidate to be ready for their first game.

• Background checks will be reviewed by US Soccer

• The North Texas Soccer Referee Committee is limited to transferring, refunds, and questions about the on field courses. We cannot help troubleshooting the USSF website issues (ex. issues with background checks, user account, SafeSport, etc.) You may want to review the US Soccer Learning Center FAQ and support process.
