The National League P.R.O. event season will continue in Arizona from March 12-14 (Boys) and March 19-21 (Girls). As teams set their sights on a National title, we’re interviewing players and coaches to give you the inside scoop.

Coach, how is your team prepping for Nationals?

“We plan on doing extra tournaments, playing up in age groups for tournaments, additional practices, and participating in Regionals if possible.” – Coach Gabe Adames, Solar Soccer 07G

“We started prepping on day one when the players set a team goal of qualifying for Nationals. Now that we’ve qualified, the prep will remain the same but the focus now shifts to winning.” – Coach Robert Weir, DKSC 05G FDL

What’s something special and unique about your team this year?

“This team has been committed for several years, to continue working together to reach this point. I’m grateful to have a great group of girls and parents that provide an atmosphere that I can effectively coach in.” – Coach Gabe Adames, Solar Soccer 07G

“Their character. Training and coaching these players is a true pleasure. These young ladies demonstrate accountability, dependability, respect and good sportsmanship just to name a few. These character traits will not only serve them well on the field but in life.” – Coach Robert Weir, DKSC 05G FDL

What are some special memories from your team’s season?

“In the last round of the National P.R.O. league we had to win three straight games to clinch a spot in Nationals and it was a great moment of achievement.” – Coach Gabe Adames, Solar Soccer 07G

“One of the most special memories from this season occurred in our National League P.R.O. game in Tampa, Florida where we played against PA Coppa Rage, last year's National Championship Finalists. This game was a back-and-forth battle, but PA Coppa took a 0-2 lead in the second half. However, my players continued to battle and scored four goals in the last 15 minutes to give us the 4-2 victory. This victory secured our spot in the USYS National Championship Series. – Coach Robert Weir, DKSC 05G FDL
