Olympian and Former Sidekick Doc Lawson Rallies Support for Soccer in Liberia

Former U.S. Olympian and Dallas Sidekicks pro soccer star, Doc Lawson, is helping to restore HOPE to the children of his homeland, Liberia, West Africa — and you can help!

Rebounding from a 15-year civil war, the nation is in a social crisis. With 80 percent of the population under age 18 and with too much idle time, the children are lost and desperate for wholesome activities and solid role models. Founded by the U.S. in 1822, 10 of Liberia’s first 12 Presidents were Americans.

Lawson and his foundation, Donami have partnered with the government/YMCA of Liberia, Metro Dallas YMCAs and Y-USA World Service to build a youth sports infrastructure. The children are responding enthusiastically to preliminary events. It is DonamiSport’s vision that by 2030, every child in Liberia will have access to organized soccer.

Make a tax-deductible donation of $100. That registers 40 kids in a safe soccer program in Liberia for one year. In return, you can choose ONE of the following complimentary gift cards:

  • Blue Mesa Grill (2 brunches),
  • OR Starbucks ($25 value).

To make your donation, download the donation form linked here or contact Doc Lawson at dlawson@donamisport.org or 214-783-1006. Then, check out Donami’s amazing development plans at http://www.hidell.com/liberia.html and Google “Doc Lawson Liberia” for more details!
