North Texas teams continue play at 2017 Region III Presidents Cup

TULSA, Okla. (June 15, 2017) – After beginning with a 7-1-2 record, North Texas teams repeated its strong performance with an identical record on day two of the US Youth Soccer Region III Presidents Cup.

The 2017 Region III Presidents Cup takes place June 14
-18 at Mohawk Sports Complex in Tulsa Okla. The tournament will feature teams in the Under-13 through Under-17/18 Boys and Girls age groups with the winners advancing to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, July 12-16 in Auburndale, Fla.

North Texas teams will join other Region III State Associations: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Texas and Tennessee.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a state, regional and national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

Under-13
Under-13 Girls FC Dallas 04 Central were defeated by WSA Girls Black (OK) and will play 04 CASL Jrs (NC) on the final day of group play.

Under-13 Boys Chelsea FC now sit alone at the top of Group C after a 3-2 win against McAllen Rayados 04 (TX-s). Ricky Andrade began the scoring for Chelsea with a penalty-kick goal, and Eric Castillo would add a brace before halftime to secure the win for Chelsea FC. Chelsea FC will end group play against OFC 04 White (OK) tomorrow.

Under-14
Under-14 Girls Solar Chelsea Wells finds itself alone at the top of Group C after a strong 6-0 over Impact FC (MS). Solar has put itself in a good position to reach the semifinals, and will look to secure a spot on the final day of group play against MSK Rayados 03 (TX-S).

Solar U14G Day 2

After narrowly falling to KSA 14 2003 (TX-S) on day one, Under-14 Boys FC Premier 03 Green rebounded with a 2-1 win over Eagles Express Red (TN).  FC Premier’s game-winner would come as a result of Edgar Jaimes breaking free down the right flank before calmly sending a cross to captain Luke Mulkey, who tapped in the goal to secure FC Premier’s victory. FC Premier will face DC Galaxy (MS) on the final day of group play.

Under-15
A second straight 3-0 win gave Under-15 Girls NTX Celtic 02 McCallum a 2-0 record and a firm spot at the top of Group C. NTX Celtic will play Capital City United 02 (LA) to close out the group stage.

Under-15 Boys Dallas Kicks moved to the top of Group C with a 2-0 win against Georgia FC 02 White (GA). Dallas Kicks will play its final game in the group stage against Arkansas Comets FC 02 Navy (AR).

Under-16
Under-16 Girls Sting West 01 Jones and Boerne FC Thunder 01 (TX-S) met on the second day of group play in a battle of 1-0 teams. Neither team was able to find the back of the net as the two teams remain tied at the top of Group A. Sting will play FKK 01 Florida Krush White (FL) on the final day of group play.

After a 6-0 win on the opening day of play, Under-16 Boys Dallas Texans 01 Red’s match on day two was a bit closer, but the North Texas side would edge out SARU 01 Torre Fuerte (SC) 2-1 to take sole possession of first place in Group C. Next up for Dallas Texans will be OFC 01 White (OK).

Under-17/18
Under-17/18 Girls Solar Chelsea 00 Volkan were unable to get past OFC 00 White (OK) as the Oklahoma side won 1-0. Solar will play its final match of group play against CRFC Sky (SC).

Solar  U17 Day 2

Under-17/18 Boys Superior Aztecas 00 is now 2-0 after a hard fought 3-2 win against 99/00 OFC White (OK). Aztecas will look to claim a spot in the semifinals tomorrow in a match against Sporting Arkansas 00 Red (AR).
