North Texas Soccer Coaching Education Program

 

The North Texas State Soccer Association (NTSSA) Coaching Education program includes National License courses designed by the U.S. Soccer Federation to provide up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge so that coaches can ensure players develop to their full potential. The North Texas Soccer Coaching Education Program is designed for our numerous volunteers in the Coach, Assistant Coach and Team Manager categories. However, this does not exclude parents and players from taking part in the education process.

Grassroots Licenses

The Grassroots Courses focus on the age-appropriate needs of players at the 4v4, 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11 levels. These are offered in online and in-person formats.

Online Grassroots License Courses are two hours long and are offered by U.S. Soccer through the USSLC. The In-Person courses are run by North Texas Soccer instructors who have been certified by U.S. Soccer and consist of a two hour classroom session and a two hour field session.

Specifically, candidates will learn more about U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players in the specific age group.

USSF D License

The D Course is a 40 to 45-hour course, held over two weekends with at least a month long developmental period in-between. This course is designed for the experienced coach who has already completed their grassroots level licensing. The focus of this course is to facilitate the improvement of candidates in the Six Tasks of a Coach across all four of U.S. Soccer’s game models (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11) with a particular emphasis on Coaching Training Sessions. Candidates that register for this course are expected and required to attend both meetings.

USSF C License

The C Course takes place over two weeklong periods, with a two-month developmental period in-between. The program is geared to meet the demands and standards of coaching in a competitive and

developmental 9v9 or 11v11 (youth/senior) environment. The program is designed to focus on the basic core concepts of coaching in a 9v9 or 11v11 environment and developing both the individual player and team. Candidates that register for this course are expected and required to attend both meetings.

USSF B, A (Senior & Youth) & Pro Licenses
