North Texas Soccer provides a variety of age specific coaching education clinics/schools that address the needs of the first time parent/coach volunteer to the experienced coach, each looking to increase their knowledge of the game and provide a fun and learning environment for their players.

U6/U8 Youth Module
 
Target Group: U6 thru U8
 
Online: Self-paced Internet course with topics on child development, philosophy of coaching, role of the youth coach, injury care/prevention, parent management, and small sided games.
 
Field Session: 2.5 hours of field activities with the last 30 minutes optional for practice coaching with coaches/players. Field activities are dribbling, passing and receiving, shooting, fun activities for these age groups, and small side game demonstration.

National D School
 
Target Group: For U14 thru U18

Course Materials: Candidates download the National “D” Candidate Manual from US Soccer.

Course Format, Four Phases: Preparation Phase, Instructional Phase, Deliberate Practice Phase, and Performance Review Phase.

    Preparation Phase – the six or more months after completing the National “E” Coaching School.  Candidates are required to complete five (5) pre-assigned training sessions with one training session being evaluated by a USSF “C” Licensed or higher coach.  All training session’s reports are due at the beginning of the Instructional Phase.

    Instructional Phase – the 1st weekend of the course, candidates will meet face-to-face with instructors, a Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday schedule.

    Deliberate Practice Phase – the ten to twelve weeks period after the Instructional Phase where candidates will complete five pre-assigned training sessions.  With in the 1st four weeks of completing the Instructional Phase two training session’s lesson plans are to be completed and submitted to the Director of Coaching or assigned Instructor for review and comment.  One of the three remaining training sessions will be evaluated by a USSF “C” License or higher coach.   All training session’s reports are due at the beginning of the Performance Review Phase.

    Performance Review Phase – the 2nd weekend, on field exam will be conducted, a Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday schedule.

Prerequisite: National “E” License or State E Certificate/License or NSCAA Intermediate Level 6 Diploma, all being held for 6 months before attending this coaching school.  No waivers given into the National “D” Coaching School.

Course Fee per Candidate: $225.00 for both weekends.
