Coaching

North Texas Soccer provides a variety of age specific coaching education clinics/schools that address the needs of the first time parent/coach volunteer to the experienced coach, each looking to increase their knowledge of the game and provide a fun and learning environment for their players.

Each coaching clinic/school is targeted at an age specific player and most have no prerequisites. To find a coaches clinic, visit the Coaches pull down on the main page then Coaching Clinics.

Below is a summary of the Coaching Clinics offered by North Texas and hosted by local associations.

U6/U8 Youth Module Target Group: U6 thru U8 Online: Self-paced Internet course with topics on child development, philosophy of coaching, role of the youth coach, injury care/prevention, parent management, and small sided games. Field Session: 2.5 hours of field activities with the last 30 minutes optional for practice coaching with coaches/players. Field activities are dribbling, passing and receiving, shooting, fun activities for these age groups, and small side game demonstration. Course Materials: Novice Coach DVD Volume I Minimum Number of Field Participants: 15 Minimum age: 15 Prerequisite for Classroom: None Prerequisite for Field Training Event: Completion of the On-Line Coaching Course Course Fee per Candidate: $10.00 charge per coach Register/Log-On Here		U10/U12 Youth Module Target Group: U10 Online: Self-paced Internet course with topics on child development, philosophy of coaching, identifying needs of the player, injury care/prevention, team/parent management, organization of practice, and small sided games. Field Session: 6 hours of field activities with the last 30 minutes optional for practice coaching with coaches/players. Field activities are dribbling, passing and receiving, shooting, heading, goal keeping, fun activities for these age groups, and the use of small sided games in practice. National E School Target Group: For U10 - U13 Classroom Session: Methods & philosophy, Care/Prevention of injuries, Parent/Team management, Laws of the game, economical training, Principles of defending & attacking, Transition from small-sided game Practical Session: Dribbling, passing, Receiving, Heading, Shooting, Additional defending aspects of goalkeeping Course Materials: Candidate Notebook Pre-course Assignment: Yes Number of Hours of Course: 18 Minimum Number of Participants: 15 Minimum Age: 18 Prerequisite: None Course Fee per Candidate: $100.00		National D School Target Group: For U14 & U18 Classroom Session: Methods of coaching, Organization of training sessions, Team management, Match analysis Practical Session: Team principles of attack/defense, Advanced goalkeeping, technical/tactical, skill training.
