Referee-50  Amateur Div 1 or higher game

Referee-100  U19 Competitive or higher game

AR-50  U19 Competitive or higher game

Time in Grade

1 year as Grade 6

Training

19 hours at State Upgrade Clinic

Written Exam

85 on USSF State Referee Exam

Physical Fitness Test

Pass per age and grade requirements

Assessments

2 as Referee on Amateur Div 1 or higher game

1 as AR on Amateur Div 1 or higher game

Upgrade Cycle

Process begins with State Upgrade Clinic 

All requirements must be met within the same calendar year

Fee

$35 assessment fee paid at In-service Clinic

Other

The required training, written exam and physical fitness test must all be completed at the same clinic before being put on the "Upgrade Candidate" list for assessment.

If a fitness test or written exam are not given, or are not passed, at the State Upgrade Clinic, it must be completed as soon afterward as reasonable.   

Any failing assessment must be offset by an additional passing assessment. 

Referees failing two assessments in the same Upgrade Cycle, will be removed from the “Upgrade Candidate” list, and must start over at the end of the current Upgrade Cycle.
