Timing
Training, exam, fitness test and assessments must be done within one year, beginning with training.  If not, must start over the next year

Fee

$35 assessment fee paid at the training clinic

$35 for a 2nd assessments to be paid at the state advancement clinic (1 assessment was paid with registration)

  1. Before being put on the "Upgrade Candidate" list in order to be assessed, the referee must complete the required training, written exam and physical fitness test.  These must all be completed at the same clinic.
  2. If a fitness test or written exam are not given, or are not passed, at the Intermediate Level ("Ref. 1") clinic it must be completed as soon afterward as reasonable.   
  3. If either the written exam or fitness test are not passed at the State Referee Advancement Clinic it must be completed at the next reasonably available opportunity.   
  4. If a State Referee candidate does not complete the requirements within the year, the training requirement the following year is only 5 hours at the State Referee Advancement Clinic (usually only the Saturday session.)
  5. Any failing assessment must be offset by an additional passing assessment at the same level.  Anyone who fails two assessments in the same year will be removed from the upgrade candidate list, and must start over the following year.
